‘Parenting in the 21st. Century’:Renowned Psychologist, David Coleman, Speaking to Parents in Kilkenny
Well known psychologist David Coleman is coming to Kilkenny in March of 2009. The invitation was extended by Kilkenny Education Centre to David Coleman to come and speak to parents about difficulties that can be experienced in bringing up children.
David Coleman is a clinical psychologist, broadcaster and author and has been a practising Clinical Psychologist, working with children and families for over ten years. The Director of Kilkenny Education Centre, Paul Fields, was very excited about the event when we spoke to him earlier this week. “David Coleman has become well known in Ireland as the presenter of the hit RTE television series Families in Trouble that was enjoyed by huge audiences nationwide. More recently he has presented the first series of 21st Century Child, a landmark venture for RTE that follows 12 Irish families for six years from the birth of their babies. David gives lectures and workshops to groups all around the country and his entertaining style is always acknowledged” said Mr. Fields. “We are looking forward to David’s input and I am sure that every parent will have a question for him”
A natural communicator, David’s style is universally acclaimed as accessible and approachable. “This is a major coup for Kilkenny to host such a renowned expert on the area child psychology”, said Mr Fields. “It is a great opportunity for the parents of Kilkenny and Carlow to come and hear what David has to say. We have ensured that David will remain on after the presentation and give assistance and advice to any parent who needs it.”
David Coleman is also a bestselling author of Parenting is Child’s Play, a guide to raising children. He is also a weekly expert contributor to the Parenting Section of Health Plus, the Irish Times’ weekly supplement every Tuesday.
The event took place on March 12th. in Hotel Kilkenny and was entitled, ‘Parenting in the 21st. Century’.
