Teachers may borrow software for evaluation purposes only and some software is restricted under copyright law to use by NCTE tutors.

Software Library

The Centre has an ever expanding Software Library. There are many software titles in the Special Needs section of the Library. Kilkenny Education Centre is a registered Clicker Centre.

Use of Software is governed by the license agreement that comes with the particular  software. Facilities are available for teachers to evaluate software on site.

The NCTE website has reviews of many of the software titles currently being used in schools.

The British Educational Communications Technology Agency (BECTA) maintains an  Educational software database.
