Bringing SESE to Life

This exciting and newly-developed Summer Course for 2021 will meet all teachers needs for teaching SESE in a creative, exploratory and child-centred way. This engaging course will draw on active learning methodologies, technology integration and inquiry-based learning STEM/STEAM ideas to truly bring SESE to life in the classroom. With something for everyone, from Junior Infants - Sixth Class, this course will introduce leading SESE within the school and reflecting on whole-school practice.

Participants will learn how to create and meaningfully assess inquiry-based projects with their students. They will explore demonstrating their class/es work in innovative and creative ways, with both digital presentations and physical displays in the classroom. The learning environment, learning experiences and learning outcomes of the students will all be considered within this course. This course was created by subject experts and authors of the new Let’s Discover Programme from CJ Fallon.

Learning outcomes include;

• Engaging in a variety of active learning practices and methodologies to support learning in SESE subjects,
• Using technology to support learning in SESE subjects,
• Creating engaging STEM and STEAM activities and challenges in the classroom, and
• Critically reflecting on the teaching and learning within SESE classes and exploring leading SESE within schools. 

Booking for this Summer Course is via the Mayo Education Centre e-Learning website. Participants can complete the course any time between Thursday 1^st July - Friday 20^th August 2021.
