The iPad & Wellbeing
The Primary Curriculum Framework aims to provide a strong foundation for every child to
thrive and flourish, supporting them in realising their full potential as individuals and as
members of communities and society. In this webinar, we will look at Martin Seligman’s
PERMA wellbeing model framework and its potential for educator and student flourishing.
Learning Outcomes:
Participants will:
- Identify wellbeing as a core component of the Irish Curriculum and reflect on whether they are incorporating it formally/informally in their classrooms/schools
- Understand the PERMA model
- Identify the importance of implementing this framework into their schools and
- Use apps for student wellbeing- Class Dojo and Smiling Minds.
- Use apps for educator wellbeing - Headspace.
- Learn about the habit loop to help educators create and maintain healthy habits.
Facilitator: Elisse O’Donnell
Elisse has delivered Croke Park wellbeing seminars and is currently completing a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology at RCSI, bringing practical wellbeing strategies to support teachers’ personal and professional growth. A primary school teacher with over 15 years’ experience, she also holds a Fitness Certificate from the University of Limerick and a Postgraduate Certificate in Leading Workplace Health and Wellbeing from RCSI. Her expertise spans fitness instruction and workplace wellbeing, empowering educators to thrive.
