Call Out to Artists: ArtEd Primary School Residency Programme 2025

Inspiring and Encouraging the Next Generation of Creatives
Kilkenny Arts Office and Kilkenny Education Support Centre (KESC) are excited to invite artists to express their interest in participating in the ArtEd Primary School Residency Programme 2025. This programme aims to inspire and encourage the next generation of children to develop their creative potential by participating in hands-on projects across different art forms, while also providing opportunities for educators to explore innovative teaching strategies and skills with the support of artists.
Programme Details:
- Residency Duration: November to December 2025
- Contact Hours: 10 class contact hours, usually five 2-hour weekly workshops
- Planning Meeting: Thursday, 16th October 2025, 4pm – 6pm in Kilkenny ESC, Callan Rd
- Evaluation and Showcase Meeting: Thursday, 11th December 2025, 4pm – 6pm in KESC
Eligibility:
- Artists must have completed the Teacher Artist Partnership (TAP) training course at Kilkenny Education Support Centre.
- Artists must have completed Child Protection training (available online for free).
- Garda Vetting with Kilkenny Education Support Centre is required.
Application Requirements:
- Provide a brief outline (300 words max) on how your arts practice will benefit the teachers and students, in line with the programme's aims and objectives.
- Evidence of knowledge of the primary school curriculum.
- Availability to run the workshops weekly across a minimum of five weeks.
- Commitment to attend the planning and evaluation meetings.
